Bobzin is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is administered by the Office Hagenow-Land , based in the city of Hagenow .
geography
Bobzin is located northwest of the urban area of Hagenow. The Klosterbach flows through the village.
history
The first written mention of Bobzin can be found in the Ratzeburg tithe register under the name Bobetin , which has Slavic origins. The village was laid out as a round with a triangular meadow . German colonialists settled the place early on, which was owned by the landed gentry until the 18th century. The population suffered from the Thirty Years' War , which only two farms survived. After this war, the church belonged to Wittenburg . In 1893/94 a station was built on the newly laid line from Hagenow Land to Bad Oldesloe . Electricity was introduced in 1922. As is customary in the GDR , the farmers in the community were collectivized until 1961 . In 1994 a ten-hectare industrial park was created, which was already fully occupied in 1997.

coat of arms
Blazon : "In gold, a blue pile thread; accompanied: in front by an erect, looking back, red-tongued and armored black dragon; in the back of a green ear of wheat between two green clover leaves that have grown together at the end of the stalk and the ends of the stalk. "
The coat of arms was designed by the Wismar heraldist Roland Bornschein . It was approved on August 14, 1996 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 108 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. |
|
Justification for the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the thread of stakes symbolizes the cloister stream, which is important for the community. The Lindwurm is a reminder of Bobzin's affiliation to the former county of Schwerin. It was borrowed from the seal of Gunzelin III., Count of Schwerin, who ruled around 1230 when the town was first mentioned in a document. Ears of wheat and shamrocks represent the main livelihoods of the villagers, growing grain and raising livestock. |
flag
The flag was designed by the Schwerin heraldist Karl-Heinz Steinbruch and approved on March 26, 2002 by the Ministry of the Interior.
The flag is striped in yellow, blue and yellow across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth. The yellow stripes each take up nine twentieth parts, the blue stripe one tenth the length of the flag cloth. Each yellow stripe is covered in the middle with a figure of the municipal coat of arms: the stripe on the leech with an upright, looking back, red-tongued and armored black dragon; the strip at the flying end with a green ear of wheat between two green clover leaves that have grown together at the stalk end and the stem ends. Each figure is eight ninths the height of the flagcloth. The relation of the height of the flag cloth to the length is like 3: 5.
Official seal
The official seal shows the municipal coat of arms with the inscription "GEMEINDE BOBZIN • LANDKREIS LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM".
