The nature reserve Gägelower See is a nature reserve southwest of the eponymous village Gägelow, north of the federal highway 192 between Goldberg and Sternberg .

The area was placed under protection on January 5, 1983 and expanded in 1999. The eutrophic Lake Gägelow with a wide silting zone, reed beds, tall perennials and bushes is to be protected. The lake is an important breeding and resting area for water birds and Limikolen . The cause of the strong fluctuations in the water level has not yet been clarified.

The state of the area is regarded as satisfactory, as the areas surrounding the lake are drained by water management systems.

There are no trails in the reserve. Insights are possible from the observation platform on the road from Gägelow to Holzendorf.

The nature reserve is located in the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park and is owned by the Foundation for Environment and Nature Conservation MV.
