Warnowtal nature reserve near Karnin

The nature reserve Warnowtal near Karnin is located in the communities Cambs and Langen Brütz in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The nature reserve covers a 122-hectare section in the upper reaches of the Warnow, south and east of the village of Karnin, which belongs to Cambs.
The protection goal of the area designated on March 22, 1982 is to preserve a breakthrough valley of the Warnow with bordering moors and partial slopes. The condition of the area is assessed as good, as the majority of the areas are developing unaffected.
The Warnow is navigable by canoe. There is a nature conservation station in Karnin.
The nature reserve is located in the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park and is owned by the Foundation for Environment and Nature Conservation MV. According to EU law, the nature reserve is designated as part of the FFH area Warnowtal with small tributaries .
