The purpose of the protection consists in the preservation and development of a body of water created by peat extraction , including bank areas as a breeding and feeding area for water birds and cranes . The state of the area is only rated as satisfactory, as the water is used by anglers with the following damage caused by footsteps and nutrient inputs.
