The breakthrough valley of the Warnow and Mildenitz nature reserve is a nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It covers an area of ​​80 hectares at the mouth of the Mildenitz river in the Warnow .

The protection goal of the area designated on April 24, 1965 is to preserve one of the largest breakthrough valleys in the state as well as a three-kilometer-long section of the river that has so far been without hydraulic engineering changes. Also on the adjacent steep slopes are faltering mixed forests are obtained. The condition of the area is assessed as good. Nutrient inputs into the river system cause problems . The river mussel , which is worth protecting, occurs, although it is unclear whether a reproductive population is still present.

Marked hiking trails allow entering the area.

The nature reserve is located in the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park . According to EU law, the nature reserve is designated as part of the FFH area Warnowtal with small tributaries .
