The nature reserve free wood (Krieg wood) is a 59  hectare comprehensive nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern . It is located east of Rostock , north of Sanitz and was expelled on December 12, 1957. The protection goal is the preservation of an old, structurally rich and in places moored deciduous forest area. The state of the area is assessed as good, as the tree population can develop without use. An area of ​​around 15 hectares is being scientifically examined as a natural forest reserve, Kriegholz . The protected areas can be viewed from a hiking trail.
