The Alte Elde nature reserve near Kuppentin is a 318 hectare nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located northeast of Lübz , northwest of Barkow and was expelled on October 1, 1990. The protection goal is to preserve a near-natural old course of the Elde with species-rich fish fauna and adjacent wet meadows and forests. The state of the area is assessed as good. A planned broiler production facility in Kuppentin, not far to the east, is expected to have negative effects.

Some of the protected areas can be viewed from public paths, for example at the Bobziner lock.
