The Klinker Plage nature reserve is a 38 hectare nature reserve on the northeastern edge of the Lewitz landscape in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Surrounding places are Tramm , Ruthenbeck and the eponymous clinic . The designation took place on January 7, 1976 with an extension in 1982. The moors located in two sub-areas are to be protected and preserved: the silting moor in the north-western part and a boiler moor in the south-eastern part.

The state of the area is rated as good. There is no drainage, the former ditch system has fallen into disrepair. The water level is naturally regulated by groundwater and precipitation.

There are no public roads in the area. An insight is possible from the steep slope to the south.

history

Today's two moor areas were created as dead ice forms at the end of the last ice age . The depressions originally without drainage are still shown on Wiebekin maps at the end of the 18th century as bodies of water. After 1850, the clinker Plage was a grave power towards Gramnitzbach with the help of steam engines and wind rotors drained and used as grassland. At the beginning of the 20th century the ditch system fell into disrepair, causing the water level to rise.

Flora and fauna

In the northern clinker bog, reeds , cattails and alder grow . Peat moss - Seggenriede can be found in the sub-area to the southeast. 62 breeding bird species have been identified in the area, including the red-necked grebe , marsh harrier , crane , corncrake , common snipe , sandpiper and lapwing . The areas are habitat for many amphibians such as Smooth Newt , fire-bellied toad , common toad , water , grass and moor frog .
