history

Archaeological finds prove an early settlement of the community area. In 1929, 26 urns made of red and black clay ceramics with bronze additions were found in one field.

The first written mention of the place took place in 1088, when King Vratislav I , the land Leteh terram in the Tetín area to the collegiate chapter on the Vyšehrad . Later the village came under the property of the St. George Monastery in Prague Castle . King Wenceslas II donated the village of Lett to the Cistercian monastery Königsaal, which he founded, at the beginning of the 14th century . Over time, the village was known as Leth , Letti , Letah, or Lethy . After the abolition of the monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms in 1785, Lety belonged to the rule of the Königsaal, which was administered by the Imperial and Royal Bohemian State Administration for the Religious Fund. Until the end of the 18th century Lety was a purely rural square village, at the beginning of the 19th century the place was expanded. In April 1827 Friedrich Kraft bought Heinrich zu Oettingen-Wallerstein the rule and ceded it to his wife Sophia Maria, née Landgrave von Fürstenberg († 1829). In 1832 the rule fell to the widower; after his death in 1845 his second wife Maria Anna, née Countess von Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg , and his children from both marriages jointly inherited the property.

In 1846 the village Letti or Lety in the Berauner district consisted of 32 houses with 216 inhabitants. Of these, 19 houses belonged to the Königsaal rulership, twelve to the Dobřichowitz estate and one to the Karlstejn kk Tafel rulership . The parish was Dobřichowitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Letty formed from 1849 a community in the judicial district of Königsaal . On July 14, 1862, the Prague – Pilsen railway was opened, but it passed Lety on the opposite bank of the river. From 1869 the community belonged to the Smichow district . After the end of the First World War, Lety became a place of recreation because of its scenic surroundings. The holiday cottage settlements of Černá Skála, Jitřenka and Lety pod Lesem were built in the vicinity of the village. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1896. In 1923 a private power station was established in Dobřichovice, which also supplied Lety with electricity until 1970. In 1927 Lety was assigned to the Okres Praha-venkov and in 1942 to the Okres Praha-venkov-jih. Between 1930 and 1940 numerous new houses were built in the community. Between 1936 and 1937 the Berounka Bridge was built between Lety and Řevnice. In 1949 the community came to Okres Praha-jih, since 1961 it has belonged to Okres Praha-západ . In the 1970s, more new residential buildings were built. After the Velvet Revolution , an industrial area was built on the northern outskirts. The August floods of 2002 caused severe damage in Lety. In 2010 the Pivotel MMX was built with its own brewery and hotel.
