Družec (German Druschetz ) is a municipality in Okres Kladno , Central Bohemia. It is located about 7 km southwest of Kladno and about 30 km west of Prague on federal road 6, which runs through the northern part of the municipality. Družec lies at 375–400 m above sea level on the Loděnice River .

To the east of the municipality rises the 429 m high mountain Veselov, on which there is also a small nature reserve, in which rare and protected plants grow e.g. B. the meadow pasque flower . The municipality covers 7.12 km². There are 827 inhabitants. The zip code is 273 62.

history

The oldest mention of Družec comes from 1320, the parish is mentioned for the first time in 1352. The most important cultural monument of the place is the pilgrimage church of the Assumption , which, originally Gothic, dates from the first half of the 14th century. Around 1690 it was rebuilt and expanded in the baroque style. Also noteworthy is a sandstone statue of the Virgin Mary erected in 1674, the work of Jiří Gran from Doksy . The largest pilgrimage always takes place on the Sunday after July 2nd. Near the church, on the wall of the cemetery, there is an approx. 180 cm high and 56 cm wide prehistoric sandstone menhir called "Zkamenělec". There are also various folk tales about him, according to which he is said to be petrified sinners, blasphemers or perjurers.
