The Old Jewish Cemetery was until 1850 the cemetery of the Jewish community of Hostouň (German Hostaun ), a Czech community in Okres Kladno . It is a listed building.

Geographical location

The old Jewish cemetery of Hostouň is located about one kilometer southwest of Hostouň on the south bank of the Sulovický potok. It is on a wooded slope.

history

There were Jews in Hostouň since the 16th century. The Jewish community they formed grew to 64 families by the 19th century.

The old Jewish cemetery had an area of ​​0.12 hectares. Around 50 late baroque and classicist tombstones from the 18th and 19th centuries have survived. In 1947 there were still 70 tombstones. The cemetery is one of the most valuable in the Kladno region. The oldest gravestone dates from 1786. The cemetery was used until 1848 when it was replaced by a new cemetery .
