The Vranský potok (German Mühlbach , also Wranaybach ) is a left tributary of the Bakovský potok in the Czech Republic .

course

The Vranský potok rises one and a half kilometers north of Telce and Skály on the Perucká tabule ( Perutzer Tafelland ). Its source is north of the ridge Na Rovinách between Telce and Peruc on the state road II / 237. On its upper course to the east, the stream flows past Vraný and U Práče into the Řipská tabule ( St. Georgsberg Tafelland ). There the Vranský potok takes a south-easterly direction and forms a deeply cut, partly rocky valley in which the places Horní Kamenice, Údešice and Jarpice are located. Then the valley of the stream becomes flat and wide; Budenice, Budeničky, Malá Strána and Šlapanice follow along its course . Between Šlapanice, Červený Mlýn and Štěpárna, the Vranský potok is dammed in the Šlapanický rybník pond. On its lower reaches the brook flows through Poštovice , Kmetiněves , Hospozín , Černuc , Dolní Kamenice and Budihostice. After 22 km the Vranský opens brook below the pond Budihostický rybník between Budihostice and Chržín in the Bakovský brook .

The Vranský potok has only a few tributaries; the mainly agriculturally used, poorly forested area along its course is one of the poorest in rainfall in the country. At Kmetiněves the brook is bridged by the connecting railway to the Hospozín sugar factory and below Hospozín by the Roudnice nad Labem – Zlonice railway line. Above Dolní Kamenice, to the left of Vranský potok, the PP Pod Šibenicí natural monument extends .
