Valerie Jerome
Valerie Jerome (married Parker; born April 28, 1944 in Saint-Boniface , Manitoba ) is a former Canadian sprinter and long jumper .
At the Pan American Games in Chicago in 1959 , she won bronze in the 4-by-100-meter relay . She finished fourth over 100 m and seventh in the long jump.
In 1960 she reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Rome over 100 m and was eliminated with the Canadian 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.
In 1959 she was Canadian champion over 60 m , 100 m and long jump. She set her personal best over 100 m of 11.8 s in 1960.
Her brother Harry Jerome was also successful as a sprinter.
