Anja Eržen (born October 26, 1992 in Ribno ) is a former Slovenian cross-country skier and biathlete .

Career

Eržen took part in FIS competitions as a cross-country skier from 2006 to 2013 . She mainly competed in U18 and U20 races in the Alpine Cup , in which she won the U18 overall ranking in the 2008/09 season and the U20 overall ranking in 2011/12 . She made her debut in the Cross-Country World Cup at the beginning of the 2009/10 season in Beitostølen , which she finished in ninth place with the relay. This was also her best placement in the World Cup. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she took part in two competitions, it was 15th with the Slovenian 4 × 5-km relay and 60th in the double pursuit race. At the Junior World Championships 2012 in Erzurum she won bronze with the relay.

For the 2013/14 season , Eržen, who started for TSK OGP GRAD Bled , switched to biathlon. Already in summer she started at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2013 in Forni Avoltri , as she narrowly missed a medal in fourth place in the sprint; she finished seventh in the pursuit. After finishing 19th at the start of the winter season at the IBU Cup sprint race in Idre , Eržen also competed in the season opener in the Biathlon World Cup in Östersund . In her first use, an individual, she came in 54th place. Her best result of the season was a 42nd place in Oberhof . At the 2014 Biathlon European Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , she was Slovenian 24th in the individual, 49th in the sprint and 38th in the pursuit.

At the end of the 2017/18 season, she ended her career as a professional athlete.
