Forni Avoltri (in German: Ovens ; in Furlan : For Davôtri ; in the local dialect : For Davùatri ) is a municipality with 551 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the northern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia .
geography
Forni Avoltri is the last municipality in Val Degano before the border with Veneto . The village is located north of Carnia , making it the northernmost municipality in the region.
Attractions
- Chiesa di San Lorenzo - the church is in Forni and dates from the 17th century. It was restored in 1870.
- Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista - the church is in Frassenetto and was built in 1346. It was restored in 1745.
- Museo etnografico Cemuot chi erin - the ethnographic museum was established in 1992.

economy
Forni Avoltri's economy is based on winter and summer tourism . The village has nine hotels , a campsite , three bed and breakfasts , two rural tourism farms and three alpine refuges . In the field of gastronomy three restaurants are available.
Sports
In Forni Avoltri there is a biathlon stadium , in which international competitions, especially in the biathlon European cup , have been held since the 1990s . In 2003 and 2013 the place hosted the Summer Biathlon World Championships , the Biathlon European Championships 2003 and 1997 the Biathlon Junior World Championships . In addition to Antholz and Ridnaun , the place is thus one of the centers of Italian biathlon.
