The Topolò district of Grimacco

Grimacco ( Furlanisch Grimàc , Slovenian Garmak ) is a municipality ( comune ) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in northeastern Italy and has 313 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The municipality is located about 27.5 kilometers east-northeast of Udine on the border with Slovenia . The administrative center of the municipality is located in the district of Clodig .

The municipality of Grimacco includes the following places: Arbida ( Arbida ), Brida inferiore ( Dolenje Bardo ), Brida superiore ( Gorenje Bardo ), Canalaz ( Kanalac ), Clodig ( Hlodič ), Costne ( Hostne ), Dolina ( Dolina ), Grimacco Inferiore ( Mali Garmak ), Grimacco Superiore ( Veliki Garmak ), Liessa ( Liesa ), Lombai ( Lombaj ), Plataz ( Platac ), Podlach ( Podlak ), Rucchin ( Zaločilo ), Seuza ( Seuce ), Slapovicco ( Slapovik ), Sverinaz ( Zverinac ) , Topolò ( Topolove ), Ville di Mezzo.
The town hall is located in the district of Clodig.

Population and language

Over 70–90% of the population are Slovene native speakers. A more precise determination is not possible because the last census with recording of language affiliation was carried out in 1971.

Culture

The international cultural festival Stazione Topolò - Postaja Topolove has been taking place in Topolò since 1994. In June / July artists from many countries meet in Topolo to exhibit works of art, perform plays and make music.
