Mossa (in the Furlan dialect: Mosse ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1552 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . The municipality is located about 5.5 kilometers west of Gorizia and belongs to the Comunità Montana del Torre, Natisone e Collio . The name is derived from Langobard and corresponds to the German Moos-Au (Mossau).
