The community Fanna ( Furlanisch Fane , German Faun , locally Fana ) is located in northeast Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . It is located north of Pordenone and has 1521 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

In addition to the main town of Fanna, the municipality includes two other villages, Borgo Sottila and Madonna di Strada. The neighboring municipalities are Arba , Cavasso Nuovo , Frisanco and Maniago .

The Fanna-Cavasso stop is on the Gemona del Friuli – Sacile railway line .

In Fanna, besides the Italian language, the Friulian language is spoken. In the municipality, the regional law of December 18, 2007 number 29 “Standards for the protection, improvement and promotion of the Friulian language” applies, with which the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region established the official names in Friulian where this language is spoken. In recent times the Venetian dialect has also gained ground.

Personalities
