Turriaco (in the Furlan dialect: Turiàc ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2857 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . The municipality is located about 19 kilometers southwest of Gorizia . The Isonzo forms the eastern border .
history
Turriaco is first mentioned as a place in 1224. The municipality was part of the county of Gorizia and Gradisca until the end of the First World War , where it was subordinate to the judicial district of Monfalcone , which in turn was part of the district of Monfalcone .
