The municipality of Montereale Valcellina (Furlanisch Montreâl ) is located in north-east Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . It is located north of Pordenone and has 4338 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

In addition to the main town of Montereale Valcellina, the municipality includes four other towns and hamlets: Grizzo, Malnisio and San Leonardo Valcellina. The neighboring municipalities are Andreis , Aviano , Barcis , Maniago and San Quirino .

Montereale Valcinella station is on the Gemona del Friuli – Sacile railway line .
