The municipality of Claut is located in northeast Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . It is located north of Pordenone at 613  m slm and has 887 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

In addition to the main town of Claut, the municipality includes eight other localities: Cellino di sopra, Cellino di sotto, Contròn, Creppi, Lesis, Matàn, Pinedo, Stoc and Vit. The neighboring communities are Barcis , Chies d'Alpago ( BL ), Cimolais , Erto e Casso , Forni di Sopra , Forni di Sotto , Frisanco , Pieve d'Alpago (BL) and Tramonti di Sopra .
