Savogna d'Isonzo ( Slovenian : Sovodnje ob Soči ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1701 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . The municipality is located about 4.5 kilometers southwest of Gorizia on the Slovenian border. The Isonzo forms the northwestern municipal boundary .
