Santa Maria la Longa (Furlanisch Sante Marie la Lungje ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2314 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . The municipality is located about 18 kilometers south-southeast of Udine .

Santa Maria la Longa train station is on the Udine- Cervignano railway line . There is another stop in the district of San Stefano Udinese. The former Strada Statale 352 di Grado (today: regional road) runs through the municipality from Udine to Grado .
