Caneva ( Furlan Pasiàn ) is an Italian commune in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in the north-east of the country. On December 31, 2019, the community had 6,371 inhabitants.

geography

Caneva is about 15 km west of Pordenone and 110 km northwest of Trieste .

In addition to the main town Caneva, the municipality includes four other localities and hamlets: Fiaschetti, Fratta, Sarone and Stevená.

The neighboring municipalities are Cordignano , Fontanafredda , Fregona , Polcenigo , Sacile , Sarmede ( TV ), Tambre ( BL ).

Partner communities

Neumarkt-Sankt Veit in Bavaria has been a partner municipality in Canevas since 2002 . There is also a partnership with Meilhan-sur-Garonne in the French region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Friendship agreements exist with Fagundes Varela in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and with the Belgian municipality of Anhée in Wallonia .
