Farra d'Isonzo (in the Furlan dialect: Fare or Fara ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1674 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . The municipality is located about 8.5 kilometers west-southwest of Gorizia . The Isonzo forms the southern municipal boundary.
history
The village is actually of Lombard origin and is mentioned in a document in 967 as part of a donation from Otto I to the Patriarch Roduald of Aquileia .
