San Giovanni al Natisone ( Furlanic : San Zuan dal Nadison ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6096 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . The municipality is located about 16 kilometers southeast of Udine and about 17.5 kilometers west-northwest of Gorizia . The parish is located between the Natisone and the Judrio .

Community partnerships

San Giovanni al Natisone maintains an intra-Italian partnership with the municipality of Francavilla Fontana in the province of Brindisi and a partnership with the Austrian municipality of Kuchl in the state of Salzburg .

economy

There is a strong table and armchair industry in the San Giovanni al Natisone area. The purchase of the raw material from Kuchl led to fraternization with the Austrian "wood community".

traffic

The former Strada Statale 56 di Gorizia (now a regional road) runs through the municipality from Udine to Gorizia. There is a train station on the Udine – Trieste railway line .
