Extended relationship management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term Extended Relationship Management ( XRM ), more rarely also called Anything Relationship Management , is based on the term Customer Relationship Management (CRM). XRM is a strategy based on the advancement of CRM. The X stands for extended , as not only customers, but any contact details (suppliers, partners, investors, etc.) and their relationships with one another can be mapped in an XRM system. In addition, there is the management of a wide variety of data such as projects, contracts, real estate or spare parts. Such complex relationships require business solutions in which a wide variety of data is visible and linked to individual business cases and processes.

Possible platforms for developing such XRM solutions include Microsoft Dynamics , CAS Open, Contiss and Evidence application platform .

history

The term XRM probably first appeared in 1998 through the company Broadvision. Broadvision called its strategic product orientation XRM at the time. It is falsely believed that Douglas Laney, analyst at META Group (now Gartner) created the term in 2001. He defined XRM as the principle and method of applying CRM disciplines and technologies to all business processes and key areas of a company.
