The Gemona del Friuli – Sacile railway connects Gemona with Sacile and is located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . It is single-track and only electrified on the Gemona – Osoppo section . In Gemona and Sacile there is a connection to the main line Tarvisio-Venice .

Passenger and freight transport

Passenger traffic, which had been suspended since 2012 due to a landslide, was resumed between Maniago and Sacile in December 2017.

With a steam train ride from Sacile to Gemona del Friuli, the entire route was put back into operation on July 29, 2018. As the first railway line in northeastern Italy, it was included in the historical and tourist project "Binari senza tempo" by the Fondazione FS Italiane and in 2018 traveled a total of 16 times with steam trains.

For freight traffic, the route is only used between Gemona and Osoppo, primarily wooden trains run to and from Austria and Slovenia , and services are sometimes provided by the private railway company SERFER Servizi Ferroviari srl - Merci.
