At the water tower, Bettrath-Hoven, Bonnenbroich-Geneicken, Bungt, Dahl, Eicken, airport, Geistenbeck, Giesenkirchen-Mitte, Giesenkirchen-Nord, Gladbach, Grenzlandstadion, Hardt-Mitte, Hardter forest, Hardterbroich-Pesch, headquarters, Hehn, Heyden, Hockstein, Holt, Lürrip, Mülfort, Neuwerk-Mitte, Odenkirchen-Mitte, Odenkirchen-West, Ohler, Pongs, Rheindahlen-Mitte, Rheindahlen-Land, Rheydt, Sasserath, Schelsen, Rheydt Castle, Schmölderpark, Schrievers, Uedding, Venn, Waldhausen , Wanlo, Westend, Wickrath-Mitte, Wickrathberg, Wickrath-West and Windberg are part of the four city districts

The list of districts and districts of Mönchengladbach gives an overview of the four  districts and 44  districts of the urban district Mönchengladbach in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Since the last municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1975, the form of initially ten boroughs has been introduced in Mönchengladbach. The former city districts consisted of the city ​​center and Volksgarten as well as the historically incorporated cities and communities Neuwerk and Rheindahlen (incorporated on June 30, 1921), Giesenkirchen and Hardt (incorporated on August 1, 1929) and Odenkirchen , Rheydt (consisting of Rheydt-Mitte and Rheydt -West ) and Wickrath (incorporated on January 1, 1975). The city districts in their current form have only existed since October 22, 2009. This administrative reform was passed on February 27, 2008 by the Mönchengladbach City Council with a majority of one vote.

The same for each municipality to council to be elected district councils each have an odd number (between eleven and 19) to members. These elect a chairman, the so-called district chairman, from among their members . On the one hand, local matters are discussed in the district councils; on the other hand, they are to be heard by the council on those that affect the city district.
