Bettrath-Hoven is a district of the urban district Mönchengladbach in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is located in the Mönchengladbach Ost district .

location

The twin town of Bettrath-Hoven was created from the union of the towns of Bettrath in the east of today's district and Hoven in the west. In the east the district borders on the districts of Neuwerk-Mitte and Flughafen , in the south and southwest on Windberg and Eicken . In the north, the city limits of Mönchengladbach run to the cities of Viersen and Willich , which are part of the Viersen district . The north-western border forms the Niers .

traffic

Bettrath-Hoven is connected to Mönchengladbach city center by bus lines 002, 003, 007, 015 and 025. Line 002 has its terminus at Am Hommelsbach in Bettrath-Hoven, line 003 ends in the village of Lockhütte , which belongs to Bettrath . Line 015 begins in the north of Bettrath-Hoven in the village of Donk and first travels through Neuwerk before continuing its journey through Bettrath-Hoven towards the city center; Line 025 begins at the Mönchengladbach airfield in the airport district and runs from Neuwerk through Bettrath-Hoven on the same route as line 015. Line 007 also connects to Viersen-Heimer , where there is a connection to line CE89 to Viersen train station . In the other direction, the line connects via Neuwerk to the districts of Uedding and Lürrip .

The border to the eastern districts runs along the disused Krefeld – Rheydt railway line . The Mönchengladbach-Neuwerk station , located on this route on the border between Neuwerk-Mitte and Bettrath-Hoven, used to connect the district with Mönchengladbach Central Station and Krefeld . During the Second World War, the connection to the main train station was destroyed; until the cessation of passenger traffic in 1982, trains to and from Krefeld continued to end and start at Mönchengladbach-Neuwerk station.

The federal motorway 52 runs through Bettrath-Hoven. The district can be reached via the Mönchengladbach-Nord and Mönchengladbach-Neuwerk junctions.
