Jovian Hediger (born December 17, 1990 in Reinach ) is a Swiss cross-country skier .

Career

Hediger competed in junior races until 2011. He has been taking part in the cross-country skiing world cup and the cross-country skiing alpine cup since 2011 . He ran his first World Cup race in December 2009 in Davos , which he finished in 84th place in the sprint. He got his first World Cup points in December 2011 in Rogla with 22nd place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he reached 25th place in the sprint. In March 2013 he came in Lahti with seventh place in the sprint for the first time under the top ten in the World Cup. He finished the 2013/14 season in 69th place in the overall World Cup ranking and 29th in the sprint ranking. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he finished 47th in the sprint. In February 2015, he came 21st in the sprint at the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . In the 2015/16 season he made it into the points seven times and at the end of the season he finished 20th in the Sprint World Cup. In December 2015 in Dobbiaco he achieved fourth place in the sprint, his best individual result in the World Cup to date. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , he finished 11th in the sprint and ninth together with Roman Furger in the team sprint. The following year he ran at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang on 19th place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he finished 35th in the sprint and, together with Ueli Schnider, 11th in the team sprint.
