Špela Rogelj (born November 8, 1994 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian ski jumper . She starts for the SSK Costella Ilirija association .

Career

Rogelj made her debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on January 23, 2008 in Toblach . With the 24th place she immediately reached the points. On January 24th, 2009 she managed to jump into the top ten for the first time with seventh place on her home hill in Ljubno . At the Junior World Championships in 2009 in Štrbské Pleso , Rogelj jumped to 30th place. After another good result at the COC in Zakopane , she was part of the squad for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , where women's ski jumping was held for the first time. She reached 30th place in the individual on the normal hill. At the Slovenian Ski Jumping Championships in Kranj in 2009 , she won the silver medal behind Eva Logar . After further good performances in the Continental Cup, she reached 16th place in the overall Continental Cup ranking in the 2009/10 season . At the FIS Ladies Winter Tour 2010 she came in 13th place in the overall tour after all competitions. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten , she managed to jump from the normal hill to 16th place.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2011 in Otepää , Estonia , she won the individual silver medal in second behind Coline Mattel . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she finished 21st in the individual competition.

Rogelj has been jumping in the newly created World Cup since December 3rd, 2011 . At the premiere in Lillehammer , she took tenth place. Her best placement in the first season was eighth on February 4, 2012 in Hinzenbach . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Erzurum in 2012 , she finished fifth in the individual and won the bronze medal with the Slovenian team.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2013 in Liberec , she finished seventh in the individual and was together with Urša Bogataj , Ema Klinec and Katja Požun junior world champion in the team competition. In February 2013 she achieved her greatest successes in the World Cup with two fourth places in Ljubno and Sapporo . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she finished 13th in the individual and eighth place in the first-ever mixed team competition.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Predazzo , she finished eighth in the individual and won the silver medal with the Slovenian team. At the Olympic premiere of women's ski jumping in Sochi , she finished 26th.

At the start of the 2014/15 season , she won her first World Cup competition in Lillehammer on December 5, 2014. In the further course of this season, she achieved further podium finishes with three third places. In the overall World Cup, she finished fourth with 581 points and thus achieved her first top ten placement. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , she finished tenth in the individual and fifth in the mixed team competition.

In the summer of 2015, she started in all five competitions in the Grand Prix and reached the top ten in each competition. With fourth place in Almaty and seventh place in the overall ranking, she achieved her best results to date. In the 2015/16 World Cup season , she finished third in Ljubno and took her fifth podium finish in the World Cup.

In the 2016/17 World Cup season , she was unable to build on the performances of the previous two years and only achieved a top ten placement in ninth place in Zaō . At her fifth Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , she finished 22nd in the individual competition.

In the 2017/18 season she finished fifth in Hinterzarten and two in Zaō with the Slovenian team in the first two team competitions in the women's World Cup . Her best single placement this season was two ninth places in the Lillehammer Triple 2017 . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she took 22nd place in the individual competition on the normal hill .

At the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol , she took fourth place with the Slovenian women's team and reached 22nd place in the individual.
