At the XXII. The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi held four ski jumping competitions. For the first time in Olympic history, a women's ski jumping competition was on the program. The venue was the RusSki Gorki ski jumping center in the Esto-Sadok district of Krasnaya Polyana .

There are far-reaching problems with the re-use of built sports facilities, with interventions in nature and with regard to what remains for the people in Sochi themselves. The games v. a. Subsequent doping problems did not have as extreme an impact in ski jumping as in other sports. This is mainly due to the fact that there are almost no Russian ski jumpers at world level.

Quota places

The FIS limited the number of eligible athletes to 70 men and 30 women. A maximum of five quota places were allocated to men and four to women per country. For the number of quota places per country, points from the World Cup , Grand Prix and Continental Cup were decisive, which were achieved within the qualifying period from July 2012 to January 19, 2014. The Olympic Quota Allocation List was calculated from them . There were replacements for quota places that countries did not take up. This resulted in the Ski Jumping assigned quota list for Olympic Games 2014 .

Countries with at least four quota places for men had the opportunity to take part in the team competition. A maximum of four athletes per country could be nominated for qualifications for individual competitions; since nine countries had five quota places for men, nine starting places were dropped; the qualifications for the men's individual competitions were therefore started with 61 athletes.
