At the XXII. The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi held four luge competitions. The venue was the Sanki Sliding Center in Krasnaya Polyana . For the first time, the team relay was on the program. All competitions were won by German tobogganists.

In response to the McLaren Report , the International Olympic Committee disqualified the Russian luge Albert Demtschenko at the end of 2017, with which he should have returned his silver medal. After an appeal, the International Court of Justice overturned this judgment in January 2018.
