SUI
The Switzerland took part in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi in part with a total of 163 athletes in 12 sports. The record number of the Vancouver Games was topped four years later with 92 men and 71 women. This was due, among other things, to the inclusion of new snow sports competitions in the Olympic program. Switzerland took part in the ice hockey and curling tournaments with one men's and one women's team. In contrast, there were no Swiss athletes in the ice skating disciplines.
As Chef de Mission of the Swiss Olympic officiated Gian Gilli . The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the four-time Olympic ski jumping champion Simon Ammann .
