Brazil participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi with thirteen athletes in seven sports. Originally, Laís Souza , who had already participated in the 2004 Olympic gymnastics competitions, was supposed to take part in freestyle skiing, but was injured so badly in a training accident that she could not take part.
