Brazil took part in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City with a delegation of 76 athletes (73 men and 3 women) in 27 competitions in 13 sports.

The Brazilian athletes won one silver medal and two bronze medals. The triple jumper Nelson Prudêncio secured the silver medal, while the flyweight boxer Servilio de Oliveira won bronze as did the sailors Reinaldo Conrad and Burkhard Cordes in the Flying Dutchman . The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was water polo player João Gonçalves Filho .
