Burkhard Cordes (born May 15, 1939 in Darmstadt , Germany ) is a former Brazilian sailor .

successes

Burkhard Cordes took part in the Flying Dutchman twice in the Olympic Games . In 1968 he won the bronze medal with Reinaldo Conrad in Mexico City when they finished third behind the British and German boats. Four years later , in fourth place in Munich , they just missed another medal win. At world championships in 1973 Cordes succeeded in winning the bronze medal with Conrad in Rochester . He also won two medals with Conrad in the Flying Dutchman at the Pan American Games : in 1967 he won the silver medal in Winnipeg and the gold medal in Mexico City in 1975 .

His father Otto Cordes , a German emigrant, was a water polo player and became Olympic champion in 1928 .
