The Switzerland took part in the 1964 Olympic Winter Games in Austrian Innsbruck with a delegation of 72 athletes, 60 men and twelve women, in part.

It was Switzerland's ninth participation in the Winter Olympics since 1924 .

Flag bearer

Cross-country skier Hans Ammann wore the flag of Switzerland during the opening ceremony, while alpine skier Willy Favre wore it at the closing ceremony .

Medals

It was the first and so far only Olympic Winter Games in which Switzerland could not win a medal.
