Erich Schönbächler (born September 6, 1935 in Einsiedeln ) is a former Swiss biathlete .

Erich Schönbächler was a member of the Swiss national biathlon squad in the middle and second half of the 1960s. He started at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 and was second-best Swiss among his three compatriots in 46th place, fourth from last. While the running time was mediocre, Schönbächler missed 12 of 20 shots and thus received 24 penalty minutes. A year later he entered the Biathlon World Cup in Elverum in 1965 and reached 40th place. In 1966 he finished 46th in the singles in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and with Peter Gerig , Fredi Vogel and Ruedi Etter as the final runners of the relay in the relay race, which was held for the first time in the official program of the World Cup, in ninth place. In 1967 in Altenberg and 1969 in Zakopane , Schönbächler competed again in the individual and finished 33th and 56th.
