René Kiener

René Kiener (born May 21, 1938 in Bern ) is a former Swiss ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

The Bernese goalkeeper René Kiener was active throughout his career from 1955 to 1973 for SC Bern . The goalkeeper won the Swiss championship twice with the Stadtberner Verein , in 1959 and 1965 . Kiener's nickname was Gagu . His jersey number 0 was banned from SC Bern after Kiener's career ended.

International

For Switzerland , Kiener took part in the 1964 Winter Olympics on an international level . At this tournament he reached eighth place with the ice comrades , with Kiener standing between the posts in two games for the Swiss. He made a total of 38 international matches for Switzerland.
