Peter Stammbach
Peter Stammbach (born November 27, 1937 in Bern ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player .
Career
The Bernese Peter Stammbach, who preferred to act in the center forward position, was active for SC Bern from 1953 to 1967 and 1971 to 1973 . The center won the Swiss championship twice with the Stadtberner Verein , in 1959 and 1965 . He temporarily acted in an attack formation with the two wingers Rolf Diethelm and the Canadian Bruce Hamilton . He was also the best scorer in the National League A several times , in 1962 and 1963 he succeeded twice in a row. His jersey number 6 was banned from SC Bern after Stammbach's career ended.
International
For Switzerland , Stammbach took part in the World Cup in 1959 and the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 on an international level . In the latter tournament he reached eighth place with the Eisgenossen , with Stammbach having contributed one goal and three assists to this success.
