Bruce Hamilton (born September 17, 1927 ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player and coach .

Career

The Canadian Bruce Hamilton, who preferred to act in the position of the left winger, was signed by SC Bern from the National League A in autumn 1954 . There, the Canadian from the province of Saskatchewan initially acted as a player- coach for two years . After the descent of SC Bern in 1956 to the National League B , Hamilton limited himself to his duties as an active player. 1958 succeeded the promotion to the top division. In the following season 1958/59 he won the first Swiss championship in the club's history with the Stadtberner club .

Hamilton was the only foreign player in the SCB championship team. He temporarily acted in an attack formation with right winger Rolf Diethelm and center Peter Stammbach . This trio made a significant contribution to winning the Swiss championship, with Hamilton being the most successful scorer with 46 points. After this season, the successful teamwork of the trio ended, as a game ban imposed by the Swiss federation on foreigners made it impossible for Hamilton to be involved again.
