Rolf Diethelm

Rolf Diethelm (born October 2, 1939 in Bern ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player and coach .

Career

Rolf Diethelm from Bern, who preferred to play the position of the right winger, played as a junior at SC Bern from 1950 . As a 15-year-old, he was used for the first time in the National League A team. With the Stadtberner Verein, the right wing won the Swiss championship twice , in 1959 and 1965 . First he acted in an attacking formation with the Canadian left winger Bruce Hamilton and center forward Peter Stammbach .

After Hamilton's departure in 1959, SC Bern's first attack formation was represented by the trio of Peter Zurbriggen , Stammbach and Diethelm. In 1968 Diethelm won another Swiss championship with the HC La Chaux-de-Fonds . Before that, he had already worked temporarily as head coach of SC Bern in 1965/66 , the Bernese also held this position in the 1968/69 game year and managed to get promoted to the National League A with the city of Bern . Other stations in his coaching career were Langenthal, Thun and Zunzgen- Sissach.

International

For Switzerland , Diethelm took part in the 1964 Winter Olympics on an international level . At this tournament he reached eighth place with the Eisgenossen , with Diethelm scoring two goals. He made a total of 23 international matches for Switzerland.
