Bochatay was one of the most successful runners in the Swiss national ski team at the end of the 1960s. In the first race in World Cup history, the Oberstaufen slalom on January 7, 1967, she was second behind Nancy Greene, just 0.10 seconds behind, and in the giant slalom that followed the next day, she came third. From January to February 1968, she won three world cup races . She finished in the top ten in another 15 races. In the overall ranking of the 1968 season, she was the best Swiss woman in fifth place.
