The Switzerland took part in the V Olympic Winter Games in 1948 in St. Moritz with a delegation of 70 athletes, eleven women, in part. It hosted the Winter Olympics for the second time since 1928.
The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was bobsleigh driver Felix Endrich . At the closing ceremony, the skier Karl Molitor carried the Swiss flag.
