Postage stamp of the GDR with the Däscher technique

Däscher is also known for the development of the so-called Däscher technique . In the 1950s, he further developed the so-called Kongsberg technique in such a way that the arms are placed on the body in the direction of the legs instead of stretching forwards. This technique was the standard in ski jumping until Jan Boklöv developed the V style in 1985.

Andreas Däscher is the son of Hans Däscher , a path maker in Davos, and the Italian Ursina Däscher, née Nerina Mottolini. Professionally, Däscher was an independent plumbing and heating fitter in Meilen for many years .
