Belgium took part in the 5th Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz in 1948 with a delegation of 11 athletes. The athletes from Belgium were able to win a gold and a silver medal and thus finished 9th in the medal table.
After 1928 , 1932 and 1936, Max Houben took part in the bobsleigh competition of the Olympic Winter Games for the fourth time.
