Belgium took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with 68 athletes, 32 women and 36 men, in 16 sports.

Since 1900 it was the twentieth participation of the Western European state in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

The judoka Ulla Werbrouck carried the flag of Belgium during the opening ceremony at the australia stadium .

Medalist

With two won silver and three bronze Belgian team finished 55th in the medals table .
