Botswana took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with seven athletes in two sports.

Since 1980 it was the sixth participation of Botswana in the Summer Olympic Games .

Flag bearer

Boxer Gilbert Khunwane carried the Botswana flag during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
